Silver Strikers Secure Spot in FDH Cup Semifinals with Impressive 3-0 Win over Blue Eagles

In an electrifying display of soccer, Silver Strikers defeated Blue Eagles 3-0 on Thursday to secure their place in the Semifinals of the FDH Cup. Goals from Nickson Mwase, Ernest Petro, and Emmanuel Allan were the difference-makers for the Central Bankers, who displayed hunger and determination throughout the match.

Coach Peter Mgangira made three strategic changes to the starting lineup, bringing in Ernest Petro, Binwell Katinji, and Zebron Kalima. Despite a slow start, Silver Strikers showed promise, with Mwase heading home a long throw-in from McDonald Lameck in the 37th minute to take the lead.

In the second half, Silver Strikers continued to press forward, with Petro doubling the lead after intercepting a pass from the Blue Eagles' goalkeeper. The Central Bankers seemed poised to score a third goal, but it was not until added time that Emmanuel Allan intercepted a pass from the goalkeeper to secure the 3-0 victory.

Mgangira made several substitutions, resting Uchizi Vunga, Zebron Kalima, and Binwell Katinji for Chikondi Kamanga, Stanie Davie, and Chinsisi Maonga. Despite the changes, the team remained focused and determined, delivering a promising performance for their fans.

"I am very happy that we have won the game this afternoon and we have progressed into the semifinal. The boys gave it all and made sure that we progress to the next stage of the competition. Today we gave chance to those that were not active of recent and they did a good job," Mgangira said after the match.

Silver Strikers will now travel to Blantyre to face FCB Nyasa Big Bullets in league action on Sunday. The team will be looking to carry the momentum from their FDH Cup victory into their next league fixture.
