FCB Nyasa Big Bullets: Overcoming Challenges and Focusing on League Victory against Chitipa United

FCB Nyasa Big Bullets, the 17-time league champions, are gearing up for their TNM Super League clash against Chitipa United this Saturday at Chitipa Stadium. Despite facing challenges in the district, coach Peter Mponda remains optimistic about his team's readiness for the match.

After securing a spot in the Round of 16 of the FDH Bank Cup with a 5-0 victory over Chilumba Barracks, Bullets decided to stay in Chitipa. However, they encountered limitations in accessing the Chitipa District Council-owned stadium for training sessions. Despite having paid for multiple slots, the team was only granted two sessions – one on Wednesday and an official pitch inspection on Friday afternoon.

"We have already started experiencing the atmosphere here. It's not so good. We were only allowed a couple of sessions instead of the full program we had planned," said Mponda to the club media on Thursday. "We know what's coming ahead, and the atmosphere will be tough. But this is a big team with experienced players who are used to pressure."

Bullets currently sit second on the TNM Super League log with 34 points from 15 matches, just one point behind leaders Mighty Wanderers. The team is eager to bounce back in the league after a dramatic 3-3 draw against Karonga United in the final match of the first round.

"Our full focus is on the Super League against Chitipa," added Mponda. "We had a good outing at Chitipa Stadium in the FDH Bank Cup, and the pitch is not bad, though it's below our usual standards. We managed to get the result we wanted, and now we are looking forward to the league fixture."

Defender Khumbo Banda and striker Bright Munthali had promising performances in the FDH Bank Cup tie against Chitipa United. Their debuts and return cameos, respectively, have given Mponda a reason to be hopeful for their contributions to the team's league campaign.

The first-ever league fixture for Bullets at the new Chitipa Stadium presents new challenges for the team. Mponda acknowledges the significance of the occasion and is eager to build on the positives from their previous outing.

"We are looking forward to the opportunity to play at Chitipa Stadium for the first time in the league," said Mponda. "It's a new experience for us, and we are excited to see how it will impact our performance."

Kick-off for the TNM Super League clash between FCB Nyasa Big Bullets and Chitipa United is scheduled for 2:30 PM CAT on Saturday.
