Silver Strikers' Mgangira Urges Team to Build Confidence Ahead of CRECK Match

Coach Encourages Players to Stay Hungry for Good Results

Silver Strikers Head Coach Peter Mgangira has called on his team to build confidence and maintain a hunger for success as they prepare for their ninth league match against CRECK Sporting Club on Wednesday.

Speaking at Aubrey Dimba Stadium in Mchinji, Mgangira acknowledged that competition among players has been strong leading up to the match, which he believes is a positive sign.

"Our preparations have been good. After playing on Sunday, the players who haven't been in action for a while demonstrated that we can count on them to get good results. This has increased competition among the team, and that's a good thing," he said.

With CRECK being a solid team under the guidance of a good coach, Mgangira expressed the team's determination to secure maximum points in the upcoming encounter.

"The match on Wednesday won't be easy; CRECK is a solid team, and they have a good coach. He secured his first win with the team and will be eager for a second, but we also want maximum points. The team is ready, and we look forward to a good game," he added.

Mgangira on Life After Idana: "Step Up and Improve"

Addressing the recent departure of midfielder Chimwemwe Idana to Zanaco FC in Zambia, Mgangira said he isn't expecting anyone to replace Idana directly but instead wants the remaining players to step up and improve.

"I'm glad Chimwemwe has found a new club outside Malawi, which is good for him and for us as a country. I don't expect the remaining players to be Idana, as everyone has different skills. Those who stay need to improve and do more," he said.

Idana, who left Silver Strikers for an undisclosed fee and will sign a two-year contract with the Lusaka-based side, was a valuable asset to the team. However, Mgangira believes that the remaining players have the potential to fill the void left by Idana's departure.

Silver Strikers Ready to Face the Challenge

As Silver Strikers continue their league campaign, Mgangira remains optimistic about their chances, despite the challenges they face.

"We are ready for the challenges that come our way. Our preparations have been good, and we believe that we can compete with the best teams in the league," he concluded.

With the league table heating up, Silver Strikers will be looking to secure crucial points against CRECK on Wednesday. The team's determination and focus under the guidance of Coach Mgangira will be key in their quest for success.
